Outstanding community volunteers were recognized by the Schuyler County University of Missouri Extension Council at a recent meeting. Honorees included Logan Daniels, Theresa Boggs, Shannon Bowen, and Jennifer Laws. Logan continues his family’s tradition of support for FFA and 4-H programs with his time and resources. He provides high quality cattle and training for Livestock Judging teams. He has coached traveling basketball teams. He provides on the job training for high school youth through the Agriculture Occupational Experience (AOE) program, as well as, several other jobs with the jointly owned WD63 Pipe and Steel business.
Theresa Boggs has volunteered for multiple terms on the Extension Council, been a Girl Scout leader for seven years, been a member of the FFA Alumni for seven years, actively involved in 4-H, and worked on the local North Fabius watershed project.
Shannon Bowen has volunteered his time and expertise for the last 15 years to the youth of the county through 4-H, and has served on the Jr. Livestock committee and the Extension Council.
Jennifer Laws has been an engaged and supportive 4-H parent and leader. She has served as a 4-H Council representative and been an officer on the Jr. Livestock Committee. Since 2014, she has taken on the responsibility of creating and editing the Fair Book.
